On the Set of National Treasure 2
When Missy arrived at work yesterday, she had a pleasant surprise. The cast and crew of National Treasure 2 were filming scenes at St. John’s church on 16th Street NW. Dave Clark and I headed over in the afternoon to scope it out. It was quite a unique experience to watch everything unfold. The particular sequence they were shooting was more conversational in nature, so there wasn’t much action happening, but the set was still quite alive with activity, especially around the director behind the camera.
I captured some stills with my new Nikon D40 (more on the cam later.) We were even able to meet Justin Bartha (Riley). He’s a nice guy.
Cool day in DC!

Awesome! That’s one of my family’s favorite movies. I didn’t know there was at NT2 on the way.
I just bought a Nikon D50 a couple of weeks ago, very nice camera. I went with the D50 because it is compatible with my older AF lenses, the D40 is not. There’s not much difference in the 2 beyond that. In fact, my older N-55 that I’ve had for awhile is nearly the same, except there’s a big screen on the back and there’s no where to put the film! :)

I was in DC last week and my wife and I saw the set for NT2 at Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon is a great place to explore history. They have built a new education and museum. We spent 6 hours touring the grounds and museum. We also ate at the Mt. Vernon Inn. (very good food and prices.)
